Eddie Lee, singer, musician, songwriter, celebrated 40 years in the music business in 2012. Born Eddie Christopher Lucid in Huddersfield, England, he moved back to Ireland with his late parents at a very young age. Eddie grew up in Ballyheigue in North Kerry and at the age of 13, got his first guitar. In the early years, his main influences were: Big Tom, Gene Stuart, Larry Cunningham, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Johnny Cash. He played with a number of bands before deciding to pursue a solo career, at which time he changed his name to Eddie Lee.

A keen sportsman playing hurling, Gaelic football, soccer, badminton and pitch and putt. Eddie played senior football for Castleisland Desmonds and won two Junior County Championships with them. He played soccer for Ballyheigue, Lerrig Rovers, Castleisland, and Kerryhead Rovers, also hurling and badminton with his native Ballyheigue.
Eddie now a solo artist, plays all over Ireland and abroad. Eddie’s equally at home playing country and Irish or traditional Irish music. Eddie has recorded 21 albums and a number of singles. He has co-written a number of songs with his son Aidan and award-winning writers Tommy James and Michael Commins. Daniel O’ Donnell, Matt Keane, Patrick Feeney, Theresa Rodgers, Noreen Ashe, Sean Brennan and Danny O’ Leary amongst others, have all recorded their songs. Eddie’s latest releases include: “Little Nellie of Holy God”, “Our Home in Hugginstown” and the winning song of the Sean McCarthy 2015 ballad competition - “Hills of Erinmore” sung by Risteárd Ó Fuaráin.

“Music is all I ever wanted to do and I feel privileged to have gotten the opportunity to live my dream,” Eddie said recently. He now owns the Jenny Wren Studio in Ballyheigue, which is a state-of-the-art studio where he works with top musicians who have played at the highest level.
